Erasmus Vet Job Shadowing

IUS Life - Lifelong Learning Center organized a Job Shadowing training for teachers of secondary vocational schools from Italy from October 10-14, 2022.

The training was organized within the framework of the 2021-1-IT01-KA121-VET-00004472 Project and brought together 12 teachers from vocational schools Forma Camera Roma, Rome; Fondazione Gramsci Emilia-Romagna, Bologna and Istituto Statale di Istruzione Superiore Leonardo da Vinci, Cesenatico.

During the three-day training, the teachers participated in several cutting-edge pedagogical workshops that are primarily student-centered and focused on developing teachers' understanding of how students learn and the best practices they should use in the classroom. In addition to this, our guests also had the chance to experience Bosnian culture by learning how to make real Bosnian coffee using a manual coffee grinder.

Along with the engaging workshops, the teachers visited the Institute for Blind and Visually Impaired Children in Sarajevo, where they met the Director, Mr. Dragan Kecman and his dedicated team and had the opportunity to get familiar with the work of this, in many ways, unique institution in our country.

An interesting exchange of opinions and experiences was held during a round table on the topic of "The VET system in BiH and Italy", which was attended by Ms. Stanislava Matić from the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education, and Mr. Armin Biber, Director of the Secondary Business-Commercial and Trade School Sarajevo.

At the end of the three-day training, the guests from Italy visited the FBiH Chamber of Economy, where they attended a presentation of projects aimed at re-training unemployed girls and women and their economic empowerment. Certificates of completed training were awarded on the premises of the Chamber.

The tour of the city and learning about the cultural and historical heritage of Sarajevo was particularly interesting and appreciated by the guests from Italy.
